          well as the behavior of their parents, from which they learn and emulate.
          Imagine when they witness the cold-blooded scenes of assaults inflicted
          either physically or mentally upon the maids by their parents, they may
          subconsciously have those grim traits and nature indelibly carved on
          their minds, and become more inclined to follow suit in the future when
          they have come of age and step into adulthood. Abusive parents set up a
          negative paradigm for their children, and a vicious cycle may formulate,
          making their offspring more prone to abusive tendencies, thus posing a
          threat to society as a whole in the long run.

              In addition, domestic helpers are considered as an essential part of
          the economy. They do contribute a lot to society. With their assistance in
          household chores, many women become liberated from the confinement of
          the house. They can be granted more free time to join the workplace. This
          leads to a thriving and jubilant workforce, which is a good indicator for the
          local robust economy. Domestic helpers also add to the diversity of races,
          boosting the capacity of cultural exchange in Hong Kong as well as its
          international fame and status. Therefore, it is incumbent upon us to treat
          domestic helpers fairly and with due respect in a bid to acknowledge their
          efforts and contribution to society.

              In conclusion, domestic helpers are our friends in the community
          under the common hometown we share and currently reside in.
          Moreover, the moral principles of human rights never allow anyone
          to be discriminated against or alienated just because of the individual
          differentiation from the mainstream. As well-educated civilians, we have
