‘Dad’ again. However, I still didn’t hear anything so I stood up and much
to my surprise, I saw a big, brown and horrible-looking creature before me!
I screamed at the top of my lungs and the fight or flight process kicked in. I
ran in panic, and ran so fast that I was like a bolt of lightning. The bear was
fast, faster than I was and as I was looking back, I saw the bear, chasing,
blood-thirsty. All of a sudden, I tripped and fell over. I had a large cut on
my calf and then I cried out to Dad, ‘Help me!’
The bear was coming for me and before I knew it, I saw a masculine
figure coming out of nowhere. For a second, the bear stopped. I suddenly
remembered the chili spray and then I threw it at him. Dad sprayed it into
the bear’s eyes and picked me up swiftly. He sprinted to the caravan, with
me on his back. He told Mum to quickly pack the bags and start the car
right away.
My mind went blank then. When I woke up again, I was in bed, but
not at home. I was in a hospital. I saw a nurse treating the wound on my
leg and this brought back the horrible memory. All of a sudden, a surge of
pain ran through my body and I screamed.
The nurse looked at me and said, “You are really lucky. If that cut had
gone any deeper, your vein would have been cut and you would’ve bled to
death.”
That’s it for today’s diary. My leg is still healing and I am not fit for
school. Wish my leg a speedy recovery, good night!
