Dear Diary

I’m somewhere in a national park in Canada at the moment. I really
wish that I had taken a compass instead of this stupid pen and paper. I’m
sitting next to a huge rock after being chased by a bear, waiting for help.

I went to a nearby stream to rinse some fruit. Suddenly a shadow fell
over me. It was huge. I turned around and saw a bear. A BEAR! I threw my
straw hat and the basket right in its face. I leaped over the stream and fled
into the nearby forest. I couldn’t find my way back to Dad’s caravan, and
got lost in the woods.

I really hope that another track is near, and I can find my way out. I
have some fruit to ease my hunger and a torch in my handbag. This might
help me survive a day or more. I wish that my parents were here with me
now. I’m so scared.
