Personal Growth Lin Wing Ki, Vivian 2E (2016-2017)
I will always remember the military camp. During the military camp,
we often felt tired. Some even cried. However, students in our class had a
huge change, like a 180° shift.
The military camp was held at Wu Kai Sai Youth Village from 18/3
(Friday) to 20/3 (Sunday). This time, all the S.1 students went to the camp
with their class teachers. I think our school wanted us to learn what we
couldn’t learn in school so they arranged for us to attend this three-day
military camp.
We had some activities in the camp like a prize-giving ceremony, a
night walk, foot drill training etc. On the first day, we waited in the school
and met our coaches – Bun Sir and Cau Sheung Sir. They taught us how
to do the foot drilling. We had to take turns to be the leaders. Some of us
became the foot drilling leaders on the first day. They made drill commands
and we followed their drill commands. When we made any mistakes,
the coaches gave us physical punishment. Although it was difficult and
exhausting, I found it quite exciting.
On the last day, there were the prize-giving ceremony and the
harbourfront jogging. Dicky received the award for The Most Improved
Student while Hailey received the award for The Most Impressive Student
in the class. During the jogging, there were some people saying “Keep
going!” to us. We were very happy that they said that to encourage us.
In the camp, I learnt a lot of things. I learnt that we could solve any
