acts of their employers as others will most likely consider their claims to
be not believable. That is a trace of unfair treatment towards other races
permeating in society.
Moreover, abuse is common place in society. It is debatable whether
this is a coincidence or not, but there is no doubt that the emergence of
such deeds should come to an end. Statistics suggest that nearly one fifth
of the domestic helpers in Hong Kong have experienced abuse from their
employers. That is proof of the seriousness of this issue.
It holds some truth that we cannot ascribe all the blame to Hong
Kong employers. Some domestic helpers surely have made mistakes.
However, it is time for the sense of superiority and racism in Hong Kong to
end. This will brighten up the future for Hong Kong.
