could hardly breathe or walk swiftly, let alone communicate effectively
with visitors in a non-verbal fashion. On top of being heat-stricken and
abound in clumsiness, regular posing, which made up the vast majority of
my duties, rendered me gape in exhaustion and left me with all but nothing
except muscle pain and fatigue after a whole day of work.
Although the extent of challenge seems low for its recurring, simple
and monotonous duties, it turned out to be a good lesson.
The biggest sensation it brought me was the sense of accomplishment
of bringing joy and happiness to all the excited faces of young kids and
expectant children coming along and rushing into the wonderland. Their
contentment, jolly smiles along with their jubilant, ferocious shaking
hands never ceased to motivate me. Indeed, it couldn’t be denied that the
job itself may be a bit of dull at the onset, but when I looked at things in
hindsight, I felt that the significance of the job was overwhelming. Who
says the job is boredom with nothing to be explored? The small wonders
came from those lovely tiny little faces throughout every single day of my
work. Their joyous faces conveyed gratitude, enjoyment, with their naïve
expectations everyone used to possess. They were active and alive. Their
energy filled my deserted cup of water, fertilized me and made me come
back to life from desperation. It was simply unfair to neglect beautiful
human nature ─ innocence and naivety deep-rooted in our inborn souls.
Reflecting on the lovely side of children only reveals partially the
miscellaneous wonders of the job. Meanwhile, it brushed up on my
sophistication in life just as well. Through taking up this role, I was
