Despite having a lot of advantages of banning children from reality
TV shows, there are also a number of disadvantages. The main disadvantage
of banning children from reality TV shows is that it will only increase the
demand for and the number of reality shows featuring children. Such reality
shows will become even more popular due to the huge controversy brought
about by the policy. Also, at the moment a loophole exists. As these shows
are now banned on TV, the same cannot be said about streaming media
online. TV stations can still upload the reality shows which star children
onto their websites. Therefore, banning children from TV reality shows
can't protect them from the ravages of fame. It only makes them more
exposed to fame since the shows can still be found on the Internet, and
banning them will only make them even more popular.
