The second disadvantage is that it will make the TV stations more
discontent with the media watchdog and more unwilling to cooperate in
the future. Since the business is extremely lucrative, a ban will cause huge
losses in advertising income for TV stations. It will make more TV stations
discontent with the media watchdog and more unwilling to follow orders,
thus increasing the difficulty of the media watchdog to execute future
policies.
In conclusion, the new policy of the media watchdog is not adequate
enough to have the intended impact. Children are not fully protected and
at the same time TV stations are pushed into an awkward position. On
balance, I disagree with the new policy and believe suitable education and
parenting are more appropriate to protect children from all the dangers
they may face while participating in these shows.
